Fantasy on Ice at SIAD 2010

For the second year running, RedFilo collaborated with Steve Wheeler and produced the world premiere of “Fantasy on Ice”, in  conjunction with Summer In Abu Dhabi 2010.

The world premiere of the brand new ‘Fantasy on Ice’ is an original production combining the mystifying world of magic & illusion with the unique artistry of ice-skating. Its light-hearted and comical acts will engage everyone through audience participation. Fantasy On Ice had an interactive section that intrigued its audience, children were invited to take a ride on a sleigh.

15 international skaters and illusion artistes come together in a 2-week long  headline show performance that is part of the Summer in Abu Dhabi 2010 festival.  This world-class performance also featured a state-of-the-art 400 square meter ice floor specially flown in from Germany. A premiere in the UAE.

Summer in Abu Dhabi 2009

RedFilo was the main event organizer and producer of SIAD 2009.

SIAD 2009 was the second summer festival held in Abu Dhabi. SIAD 2009 promised to be bigger and better than its predecessor and it definitely kept to its promise. Summer in Abu Dhabi 2009 lasted for 6 weeks (from 1st July to 15 August 2009) took up 8 halls and the atrium at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) utilizing almost 21,000 square meters, almost twice the size of SIAD 2008. RedFilo managed 170 international performers, 200 minders, 150 event and technical crew – bringing a broad spectrum of entertainment to the Emirates. SIAD 2009 was well received; it attracted more than 163 000 guests.

The festival was divided into 5 major islands; Adventure, Culture and Heritage, Science and Technology, Sports and Entertainment. These islands focused on the aspect of edutainment. It gave guests an opportunity to discover new and interesting information about the world we live in, allowed them to participate in games and sports whilst learning about specific techniques and skills, engaged their senses through vivid and unique performance and provided hands on interactive activities that allowed guests to expand their knowledge.

IDEX 2009

RedFilo was the Event Producer for the main military component for IDEX 2009 Opening Ceremony.

IDEX  2009 (International  Defense Exhibition and Conference) is the largest defense and security event  in the Middle East and North African Region. The event showcased a huge range of military systems and equipments  from all around the world.

RedFilo was directly responsible for the conceptualization and execution of a 30-minute tightly choreographed extravaganza which showcased military capabilities and technology. This planning, execution and logistics for the opening ceremony was a massive project. It saw the construction of a 5000m2 obstacle course made out of sand to act as a terrain for tanks and other military vehicles as well as a 96m long LED screen (the longest moving LED screen ever made).

RedFilo commandeered 100 soldiers and 40 personnel from the Police Force in performance formations. In addition to military hardware , three Block 60 F-16s E/F and three Mirage 2000-9 fly pasts, heliborne rope-down thrills. The National Newspaper describes IDEX 2009 as “the most grand yet.”
